Project to identify alternate pathways for the sustainability of targeted mining towns under the scenario of declining mining activities, towards adopting pre-emptive interventions to prevent the project targeted towns from becoming “ghost towns”. Activities include desktop research, situational analysis, and identification of turnaround strategies, supported by participatory analysis.
Conducted an in-depth analysis to deepen the City’s understanding of the costs and benefits of low-income household (LIHH) energy services, with a view to optimising energy service delivery models that could reduce or eliminate energy poverty.
Conducted spatial risk and vulnerability mapping and analysed the impacts of the overlapping and cumulative effects of climate hazards. Conducted a risk ranking and an economic risk assessment.
