Uganda is subject to an increasingly variable climate and higher temperatures. Major global climate oscillations such as El Niño and its opposite, La Niña, and Indian Ocean influences, result in an increasingly unpredictable climate. The water sector is the key base for the Ugandan economy and people’s well-being and these changes in climate have knock-on effects throughout the socio-economic and political sectors.
