This report is submitted under the project “Presidential Climate Commission  Recommendations for South Africa’s Electricity Future”, whereby the PCC’s Electricity Recommendations Report has been developed in draft form.

The integrated energy dialogues comprised an information session and a formal consultation with each social partner: Business, Civil Society (including Faith and Youth), Government (including Local Government) and Labour. This Report is structured into the following sections whose headings also contain the essence of the recommendations.

• Methodology and procedural justice for consultation
• Electricity Governance
• Electricity Mix, Pricing, and Financing
• Environmental Sustainability and Human Health
• Socio-economic Sustainability
• Electricity planning and the JET-IP

The Report concludes with a short Synthesis of the various recommendations.

OneWorld Sustainable Investments was contracted by the PCC to support this social partner consultation process on the socialisation and development of PCC
recommendations to the government on Just Energy Transition in both electricity planning and the JET IP contexts. A report on the stakeholder perspectives on the JET-IP has been prepared separately from this report.
